A new year of community leadership learning has officially begun and we’re proud to be right there supporting it.

The Goulburn Murray Fairley Leadership Program has been officially launched, setting the scene for an exciting 2026 experience for our Kyabram Community Scholarship recipient, Renee Pichler.

Our Community Engagement Lead Nattalie Joinbee, attended the launch to hear more about what’s ahead for Renee and to meet the cohort of like-minded people who will be undertaking the experience with her this year.

Natt said, "In the Fairley Leadership Program’s 30th year, it feels incredibly special to see Kyabram’s first Community Scholarship come to life. This sponsorship is about more than funding, it’s about growing local leaders and strengthening governance capability so our community groups can keep doing great work.”

This scholarship is only possible because of our customers. Every person who chooses to bank with Community Bank Kyabram helps power the community banking model and that creates real opportunities like this one.

We’re also grateful for the support of Warramunda Community Care, who joined us in backing Renee as an emerging local leader to take on this level of personal and professional development.

It’s always a special moment when a room fills with people who care deeply about community… you could genuinely feel the enthusiasm and the ideas starting to bubble before the first session even begins", Natt said.

Renee said, “I am thrilled to be the recipient of the first Kyabram Community Scholarship for the 2026 Fairley Leadership program. This year is about connecting with like-minded people who are passionate about leading in their community.”

Since moving to Kyabram in 2019, Renee has thrown herself into local life. From being involved in committees and community groups to launching Blooming in the Dry and helping create the Seed Library, she’s known for bringing people together with heart and purpose. She’s passionate about building a stronger Kyabram where people feel supported, safe and ultimately, connected.

Renee also shared her gratitude for the support behind the scholarship.

“Thank you Community Bank Kyabram for investing in the Scholarship, because it's also investing in the local leaders of the future.”

Renee will be sharing insights from the program as she goes and we’ll be following along and cheering her on… enthusiastically, supportively, and yes, in the most non-creepy way possible!
