Residents at Kyabram District Health Services (KDHS) Sheridan Aged Care have a new reason to smile, thanks to the launch of a nine-seater bus made possible by a $12,000 donation from Community Bank Kyabram.
The vehicle gives residents greater access to events, outings, appointments and time with loved ones which will achieve the overall objective of increased social connection and wellbeing.
Branch Manager Mel Roberts joined resident Raelene Dunn to cut the ribbon, alongside Community Bank Kyabram Directors Dale Denham and Alicia Cunningham who were on hand to check out the new wheels.
“This is what community banking looks like in action, making everyday life so much more accessible for local residents,” said Mel.
The bus is much more than just transport, it’s care and connection for residents.
KDHS CEO Anne McEvoy thanked Community Bank Kyabram for helping deliver the final piece of funding to get the bus on the road, calling it “life-changing” for residents.
The project reflects Community Bank Kyabram’s commitment to supporting initiatives that keep people connected, acknowledging "it's only because of local support that we can drive local impact".
